For both of these cases, the left most block has a mine, therefore we can be sure the first block has a mine:



Another way of thinking is that if the first block does not have a mine, then the remaining two blocks must have mines, which is impossible because it will violate the 1, and so we can conclude that the left most block must have a mine.

Continuing, the 2 tells us that the circled blocks have one and only one mine in them:
