Can't seem to make this game work at all - the bat meets the shuttlecock but doesn't seem to hit it. Is anyone else having difficulty with this?

Actually you need to touch the ball with the "trajectory" of the racket. For example, when making a forehand shot, the racket will swing from the right to the left

I must still be doing something wrong, but I can't work it out. I am using the arrow keys to move the little star player about the court, the racket remains rigid in his hand. On the (few) occasions it meets the shuttlecock, nothing happens. How can I affect the trajectory of the racket?
